Career highlights

1. 1988 - New South Wales Hare Scramble Champion
2. 1989 - Number one enduro rider in Japan
3. Finished 11 out of 14 international rallies – including starting and finishing two Dakar
    rallies. Best results were third in the up to 500cc class at the Atlas Rally in 1997 and 20th
    overall in the Tunisia Rally. Simon completed in the 2003 Telefónica Dakar Rallye but
    had a tyre problem and withdrew from the race.

4. Last year's Dakar saw the Australian-born competitor break a collarbone when he crashed
    only 30km from the finish of the ninth special stage.
